What was recalled

This recall involves certain models of Amana brand Through-the-Wall Air Conditioners or Heat Pumps.

The affected products are white-coloured and the brand name, Amana, is printed on most of the units' control covers. The units are used to provide room climate control.

The model number is located on the front of the unit on the front edge of the base pan on a white sticker. It will have the model beginning with PB** and the serial number is under the bar code that is under the model number.

Why it was recalled

The snubber circuit can emit flames if it shorts, posing a risk of serious injury due to fire hazard.

As of September 1, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 2 reports of a component on the control board shorting. No injuries have been reported.

What to do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Amana Through-the-Wall Air Conditioners or Heat Pumps and contact Daikin Comfort Technologies to submit a request for a full refund of the unit.
