What was recalled

This recall involves Vornado SRTH Small Room Tower Heater. This product was produced between 2013 and 2022. The product is intended to heat and circulate the air in indoor living spaces. The product is black or white and measures about 12.5 inches high by 6 inches wide by 6 inches in diameter. It has two heat settings (low and high) and a fan setting. The word “Vornado” with a “V” behind it is printed on the front of the unit. The model “TYPE SRTH” is printed on the silver rating label located on the bottom of the product.

Why it was recalled

Vornado recently determined that the fan blade can become displaced or detached from the motor shaft over time, which can cause a slow or stopped fan condition that can lead to overheating and the potential for melting of the enclosure and potential internal ignition. If the thermal safeties do not timely activate to cut power, an internal flame may breach the heater’s enclosure, posing a potential fire hazard.

As of May 25, 2026, the company has received no reports of incident or injury in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 32 reports of overheating from fan displacement, including 8 reports of fire and 1 report of injury.
