What was recalled

This recall involves Warn® Wireless Remote Kit for Truck and Utility Winches, PN 90287. The two pieces, a transmitter and a receiver, are black and red in color and each piece has a prominent WARN emblem. Date codes affected are after 5023 (format WWYY). Product functionality is only adversely affected when used with some legacy model winches, as identified in WARN’s Non-Compatibility List below.

Why it was recalled

The wireless receiver modules may be incompatible with certain legacy winches equipped with individual solenoid-type control packs, posing risk of damage to the wireless receiver and failure of the winch to stop when commanded.

As of July 17, 2026, the company has received no reports of incident or injury in Canada.

What to do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product with non-compatible legacy model winches and contact WARN Industries, Inc. for a refund. WARN Industries will provide a refund for part number 90287 to customers who purchased these remote-control products for use with a winch identified on WARN's Non-Compatibility List.
