What was recalled
This recall involves the S1 Dry Flush Sealing Toilet and S1 Adapter Kit. The product is a battery-powered waterless dry flush toilet with urine diversion and a heat-sealing mechanism, for campervans, caravans, motorhomes, boats and off-grid cabins. The identifying feature is the order/backer number rather than an individual unit serial number.
Why it was recalled
The battery management system does not inhibit charging when the cell is at or below 0°C. Charging in that condition causes lithium plating — cumulative, invisible damage that can later cause an internal short circuit and thermal runaway, risking fire, smoke and toxic gas release.
As of October 1, 2026, the company has received no reports of incident or injury in Canada.
What to do
Consumers should unplug the product's DC power plug if temperatures may drop below 3°C; stop using and unplug immediately if it may already have been charged below freezing. Contact Compo Closet USA Inc. to obtain a free replacement battery pack (available December 2026) or a free 12V bypass cable (already in transit to North America).
Dispose of the removed battery at a local household hazardous-waste facility — not by post, household bin, or retail battery collection box.
For more information, consumers can contact Compo Closet USA Inc. by email at [email protected].
Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
