What was recalled
This recall involves Rexall Methyl Hydrate / Methanol, Pro-Line Methyl Hydrate, Pro-Line Lacquer Thinner, Pro-Line Paint Thinner, Pro-Line Xylene, and Pro-Line Acetone products as outlined the following table with the container closure (cap) depicted in the images. The closure is the type of cap where the user needs to pull out the cap before it can be unscrewed. Other styles of closures are not affected by this recall.
Why it was recalled
The recalled products do not meet the child-resistant packaging requirements of the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.
The lack of child-resistant packaging could result in unintended exposure to the products and lead to serious illness or injury.
As of March 30, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return them to the retail location where they were purchased for replacement.
