What was recalled
This recall involves NTI brand residential gas boilers in the FTVN and TFTN model series, and HTP brand residential gas boilers in the EFTU model series. The serial number can be found on the rating plate, located on the side panel of the boiler cabinet.
Why it was recalled
The condensate dish inside the boiler can crack during a delayed ignition, allowing unburned gas to build up inside the sealed cabinet. If the gas ignites, the front cover can suddenly detach, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire, carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning, and impact hazards.
As of October 16, 2026, the company has received two reports of incidents and one report of injury in Canada. In the United States, the company has received one report of incident and no injuries. The company is aware of a total of 34 occurrences of the condensate dish breaking.
What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled boilers and contact Ariston Canada Inc. to obtain an upgrade kit and assistance in arranging to have a technician install the upgrade kit on your boiler, free of charge. Consumers who must continue using the boiler while awaiting repair should have working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in their homes.
