What was recalled

This recall involves Hamax Buddy child seat. This child bicycle seat is designed for bicycles that do not have a rear luggage rack, allowing installation on certain mountain and hybrid bicycles. Consumers must verify product compatibility with their bicycle's frame tube diameter prior to use.

Why it was recalled

The harness strap label of the child bicycle seat may detach, posing a choking hazard if a child puts the detached label in their mouth.

As of October 20, 2026, the company has received no reports of incident or injury in Canada.

What to do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and completely remove the textile label from the harness strap by cutting it off and pulling it out to eliminate the identified choking hazard. Once the label has been completely removed, the child bicycle seat can continue to be used as intended.

For more information, consumers can contact Décathlon Canada Inc. by telephone at 1-844-533-3322, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or by email at [email protected].

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
