What was recalled
This recall involves the BenQ GV31 portable projector powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The portable projector is white, circular, and has built-in surround sound speakers. It has a permanent yellow tag, and rests on a black projector stand. The portable projector is about 13.2 cm (5.2 inches) wide by 20.3 cm (8 inches) across by 19 cm (7.5 inches) in height and weighs about 1.7 kg (3.7 pounds). The portable projector has the words “superior sound by treVolo” written on it in it in gray text.
Why it was recalled
The portable projector may overheat, posing a risk of burn and fire hazards.
As of June 23rd, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada and one report of an overheating incident in the United States.
What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to BenQ for a repair or replacement.
