What was recalled

Como SL electric hybrid bikes have two parallel down-tubes and are typically fitted with a front rack/basket and fenders. The “Como SL” marking typically appears as a small, subtle graphic on the top tube or back of the seat tube. Other Specialized Como bikes without the “SL” designation are not affected.

Why it was recalled

The product presents a serious risk of injuries as the fork steerer tube on affected electric hybrid bikes may develop a small fatigue crack over time. This could lead to the premature failing of the fork and poses a fall and injuries hazard to the user.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.

What to do

To check if your model is affected, check the bike model name on your invoice and your user manual, or download and connect the bike to the Specialized app. Take note of your bike serial number and contact your nearest Authorized Specialized Retailer in order to start the claim process.
