What was recalled
Black carbon bicycle handlebars used to steer and control the bicycle whilst riding.
Why it was recalled
Due to a manufacturing deviation, some handlebars were produced with insufficient wall thickness, resulting in reduced structural strength. Under normal riding conditions, the handlebar may crack or fracture. The handlebar failure may lead to a sudden loss of control which can then result in falls, collisions and injuries.
The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
What to do
The product has been recalled from end users by Blue Factory Team, as manufacturer of OnOff bicycle components and the Mondraker brand.
Users should verify their bike’s number using the serial number checker on the Mondraker recall page: https://mondraker.com/wo/en/recall-s9. The bike serial number can be found on the down tube or on the bottom of the bottom bracket.
If the bike is confirmed as affected, stop using it immediately and contact the place of purchase/Mondraker dealer to arrange a free replacement. A new, reinforced version of the handlebar will be fitted. Please see: https://mondraker.com/wo/en/shops for a full list of Mondraker dealers.
